WEST BATH, Maine — A Georgia woman was unharmed after striking a moose while driving on State Road in West Bath on Friday night.

The crash was reported at 9:40 p.m. Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department said 22-year-old Meghan Daniels of Alma, Ga., was driving a 1994 Buick south on State Road when she struck a bull moose, which was dead on scene.

Strout said the windshield of the car was completely smashed and the roof and hood were damaged, but the moose did not go through the windshield.

Daniels was not hurt and the car was towed away. Strout saw no passengers listed in the report.
