BANGOR, Maine — A local man found wandering in the street shouting obscenities was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a public way early Thursday morning, according to police.

Bangor police Officer Christopher Blanchard was exiting the park-and-ride lot on Odlin Road when he saw a man, later identified as Jeffery Joseph, 32, of Bangor walking down the middle of Odlin Road, yelling and shouting as he went.

Blanchard pulled up next to the man and told him to get out of the road and stop shouting obscenities, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Thursday morning.

Joseph refused to comply and continued to walk into the street and swear at Blanchard, according to Edwards.

Blanchard arrested Joseph.

“He was still in jail as of this morning,” Edwards said.
