WINDHAM, Maine — An empty pickup truck was found ablaze on Theodore Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, and police and fire officials are investigating a cause.

Windham police Lt. David DeGruchy said Wednesday morning the fire was reported around 6:30 p.m.

The Toyota Tundra was completely involved when firefighters arrived on scene, DeGruchy said. The vehicle was empty and the driver was not at the scene.

Theodore Avenue, a side road in North Windham off Route 302, was shut down while firefighters battled the blaze, which was under control in 10-15 minutes, according to DeGruchy.

Police have not charged anybody in connection with the fire, and the state fire marshal’s office has been called in to investigate.

“We’re in the very early stages of this,” DeGruchy said. “There’s a lot of work to be done.”

Nobody was injured in the fire.
