BREWER – Bernard "Bernie" C. Tesseo, 83, died July 27, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home. He was born Feb. 26, 1929, the son of Leo and Agnes (Cust) Tesseo.

Bernie graduated from John Bapst High School, class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force, mostly in Japan. He was discharged in 1951 and upon his father’s early death, being the only son, he returned to run the family fur business. Bernie managed furniture stores most of his career. He was very active during his retirement, until recently. Bernie enjoyed the art of sports his entire life from T-ball and Little League through the college and the pros.

Bernie is survived by his son, Kevin Tesseo and his wife, Jackie, of Orrington; grandson, Ryan Tesseo of Orrington; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan (Miles) Tesseo; and two sisters, Ann Smith and Jane McGinn.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Bernie in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Camp CaPella, P.O.
