Searsmont woman uninjured after SUV flips in Rockland

ROCKLAND, Maine — A 35-year-old Searsmont woman escaped injury Tuesday afternoon when her sports utility vehicle flipped on a busy road.

Jill Artkop was driving on Route 17 by Chickawaukie Lake when she lost control of her Chevy TrailBlazer and it flipped shortly before 5 p.m., according to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower. The vehicle landed on its roof in a shallow ravine.

The woman declined medical attention.

No cause of the crash has been determined.
