BANGOR, Maine — A local couple indicted in May on seven sex charges involving a 7-year-old boy were indicted on additional charges Wednesday by the Penobscot County Grand Jury.

Katie Dube, 27, of Glenburn and Terrence A. Pinkham, 27, of Bangor were indicted on five counts of gross sexual contact and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in May. The victim is related to one of the adults, according to the Penobscot County district attorney’s office.

On Wednesday, Dube and Pinkham each received an additional charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Dube and Pinkham remained unable to make bail at Penobscot County Jail on Wednesday, an official confirmed. Her bail was set at $50,000 cash or $250,000 single surety while his was set at $100,000.

Police began an investigation into the couple after an electronic photo of a sexual assault involving a child was sent to Brewer police, according to a previously published report.

Brewer police Detective Sgt. Jay Munson said in May that the couple “created child porn” but did not distribute images over the Internet. If they had, federal charges most likely would have been filed against Dube and Pinkham.

If convicted, both face up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 on the sexual assault charges. They face up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $20,000 on the sexual exploitation charges.

Also indicted on sex charges Wednesday was Daniel L. Severance, 30, of Glenburn. He was indicted on six counts of gross sexual assault and nine counts of unlawful sexual contact as well as an assault charge.

The charges against Severance stemmed from his illegal conduct with two female victims when they were under the age of 12, according to Penobscot County Assistant District Attorney Alice Clifford, who is prosecuting the case.

Clifford declined to say how Severance knew the girls but said the incidents alleged in the indictment began in 2009 and continued into 2011. If convicted, Severance faces up to 30 years in prison on the gross

sexual assault charges, which are Class A crimes.

Also on the indictment list was Jason Fleming, 33, of Chester, who was indicted on six counts of forgery and two counts of theft by unauthorized taking, Penobscot County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy said Wednesday.

Almy said Fleming is accused of stealing checks from two Holden mailboxes and attempting to cash them in Hermon, Ellsworth and Bucksport, Almy said, adding that Fleming was able to cash at least two of the stolen checks and that those were made out for $1,000 and $1,500.

Fleming is being held at Penobscot County Jail pending a probation revocation hearing set for Aug. 10 and a dispositional hearing set for Sept. 4, Almy said.
