BANGOR, Maine — Police have released a video surveillance image of a woman at Walmart they believe was involved with a theft of credit cards and merchandise purchased with the stolen cards.
The woman in the image released Wednesday has brown hair with bangs and is wearing a white shirt and pink shorts or a skirt.
A female victim called police last week to report that “while she was working someone stole credit cards from her purse and attempted or successfully charged about $400 worth of items,” Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said in a statement.
Officer Jamie Fanning took the theft report and got video surveillance images from Walmart from the time the cards were used or attempts were made to use them.
“On July 19, 2012, at about 8:20 a.m. two more transactions were attempted at Walmart in Bangor,” Edwards said.
Those with information about the identity of the woman in the surveillance image are urged to call Officer Jamie Fanning at the Bangor Police Department at 947-7382, ext. 95772. The department’s anonymous tip line can be reached by pressing ext. 6.
