GORHAM – Christine M. Roberts, 84, died July 16, 2012, at Gorham House. She was born June 27, 1928, in Camden, the daughter of Luther and Lena (Mitchell) Goodman.

She graduated from Camden High School in 1945. During her high school years she played basketball and softball, and loved to ski with her friends. As an adult, Christine was known for her beautiful gardens and, according to her grandson, the best apple pie in the world. She loved the ocean, especially summer days spent at Ducktrap with her children and annual trips to Cape Hatteras. She was a passionate Red Sox fan, rooting for them on television and at Fenway Park. Christine resided for the last 10 years at Gorham House, where she was known for bright smile and happy disposition.

She was predeceased by husband, Albert Roberts, in 1992; and her brother, Kenneth Goodman, in 2011. Christine is survived by her brother, James Goodman; daughters, Kate Rotroff, Nancy Peabbles and Kristin Odsather; as well as five grandchildren, Peter, Andrew, Leah, Sophie and Alec; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alexa, Jesse and Mina. Her family thanks the staff at Gorham House for the quality of care and love they gave to her throughout the years.

Services will be private. Arrangements by Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at
