“Maine Maritime Academy plays an invaluable role educating ships’ officers and other maritime professionals,” said Polly Saltonstall, vice president of the board of trustees at Penobscot Marine Museum and chairwoman of its gala and auction planning committee. “While Penobscot Marine Museum strives to preserve Maine’s glorious maritime past, we are pleased to recognize Maine Maritime Academy for its work keeping the maritime industry thriving in the present day and into the future.”

She said that Maine Maritime Academy President Dr. William J. Brennan and the chairman of its board of trustees, Capt. Robert J. Peacock II, will attend the gala and are looking forward to meeting Penobscot Marine Museum’s dedicated supporters.

Bangor Savings Bank and Hamilton Marine are the event’s primary sponsors, and auction services will be provided courtesy of Kaja Veilleux of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries in Thomaston.

The museum is seeking donations for the live and silent auctions.
