LYMAN, Maine — A head-on collision between two sport utility vehicles sent multiple people to the hospital Monday afternoon, according to police.

A Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Thomas Haig, 38, of Waterboro was heading southbound on Hill Road around noon when his vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a Suburban driven by Taylor Solari, 18, of Kennebunkport, according to York County Maj. Bill King.

Haig’s daughters, ages 10 and 12, were in his vehicle with him, King said, and in Solari’s car were passengers John Bagley, 20, and another individual police would not identify.

Solari was towing an 18-foot boat behind his vehicle, according to King.

All involved were taken by ambulance to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, King said. Haig and Solari had to be extricated from their vehicles.

Haig was in critical condition Monday evening, King said. There was in information available on the condition of the other victims. A hospital spokeswoman had no updates Tuesday morning.

The accident remains under investigation.
