    ‘Early Saturday’….’12:15 pm’.

    Which is it?

The Town Farm Road/Route 15 intersection can be tricky if you’re going too fast and/or not paying attention.

    • true but it was by Carols Gym I think its named that anyway. So if you were coming from town it was basicly in her driveway not in the intersection.

I think BDN should refrain from reporting anything until they know all the facts first! What happened to the “Five W’s of journalism”? Who, what, where, when and why…..

Another old jounalism saying If it bleeds it leads

         That’s not funny!

        • Anonymous

never meant to be funny notice how the BDN jumped on the story without any info available to print

          • Anonymous

I did notice that….and already commented on that fact. You’re comment is unappropriate, seeing as someone died. Your “saying” is from the urban dictionary….not from any “old journalism” saying. To put that on here, where family members can read it, is just wrong. I know what you’re getting at, but it’s still not right to post on here.

That’s early in the day if you ask me.  And how about we wait for the details before guessing/laying blame.  They both have big families that read all this.

Exactly. Could have been anything from a car malfunction (blown tire?) to an animal in the road. This couple is very well known for their love of their family and friends. They are the type who would give the shirt off their back for anyone.

seems like you already know who was involved

Well, when they are not originally from Bucksport, their hometown is going to hear about it. Says right in the article, “trying to contact her family”…..

      • Anonymous

Yes, I do know who it was, I happen to be family.  News travels real fast everywhere, but it would help if it was the truth, not rumors or made up stories.   It was not an animal, not speed, not alcohol, not cell phone, not texting, just a terrible tragic accident.  I am just so sick of some of these comments and would really appreciate if people don’t know the truth or have something nice to say, they don’t say anything at all.  Give the families a little break!

This is horrible.  Between Friday afternoon and the time of this accident 5 people were killed on Maine roads including a young man on a skateboard and a pedestrian in Bangor.  I have no idea what’s going on out there these days but some thing needs to be done and done soon.  My condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

So sad!  I passed an accident around 2:30 on Rt. 46 in Bucksport on Saturday too.  So sad.  We need to determine what it is that is causing all of these accidents.  There are too many.  I know several will say texting, and while I do agree 99.9% of the time, it can’t be the case in ALL of these accidents.  What is going on??

    • well one reason is there arent as many cops on the road due to budget cuts people are driving faster you get faster driving you get more personal injury in accidents

For your information, speed was NOT a factor in this accident. I am a friend of the family, therefore, I will not say what was…..I will leave it up to one of them to set you straight. Since you DO NOT know the cause of the accident, DO NOT ASSUME you know what caused it.

If they are not friends nor family, as far as I am concerned no one is going to set them straight, they all needs lives and stop assuming things, specially when they could be praying for the one who did survive and is going through not only physical pain but mental as well. Thank you for telling them off.

You are quite welcome. If this happened to a member of THEIR family, they would not want people assuming what happened. There are grieving families and friends about this tragedy and the last thing they want to hear is a bunch of assumptions. Have some compassion Davida…..and anyone else who wants to speculate on what happened. I hope to God you never have to go through something like this!!

What an awful summer on the roads…sorry to hear this.

  • Anonymous

It wasn’t car malfunction, or drunk driving, or texting and driving. Or an animal.

  • simple as that what i just said

  • Anonymous

Why don’t some of you stop assuming what happened, specially if you do not know them. SPEED was not a factor, and as far as i’m concerned if your a friend of theirs you already know and if you wasn’t it is none of your business. They are called accidents for a reason, therefore it doesn’t always mean the driver was careless!

BDN please remove the option to add comments to this article. I do not need or want my uncle seeing these when he gets out of the hospital. Thank you very much.
