BANGOR, Maine — Police responded to a fight near the junction of Ohio and Boynton streets late Friday and attempted to stop the tussle but one man refused to stop, Bangor police Lt. Tim Reid said Saturday.

“One guy simply would not calm down and he was arrested,” the lieutenant said.

Daniel Hines, 36, of Old Town was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and was taken to Penobscot County Jail. Hines remained in jail Saturday afternoon, a jail official said.

Hines was convicted of domestic violence assault and violating condition of his release last year and was sentenced to seven days in jail, according to court listings printed in the Bangor Daily News. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
