NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — A woman and three juveniles connected to several residential burglaries in Cumberland County are facing a long list of charges, according to police.

Sheriff Kevin Joyce said in a release the investigation had spanned several months, and on June 28, four suspects were identified.

The culprits were pegged as Juanita Small, 40, of New Gloucester and three teenage boys ranging in age from 15 to 17. Joyce would not disclose their names because they are juveniles.

Small and her accomplices reportedly were followed to a residence in New Gloucester on June 28, and while they were attempting to commit a residential burglary, police swooped in and took them into custody without incident.

Joyce said several other burglaries connected to the suspects in Cumberland County have been resolved, while others in Cumberland, Androscoggin and Oxford counties remain under investigation.

The crimes involved thefts of jewelry, personal items, electronics, sporting goods and alcohol, some of which have been recovered, according to Joyce. Forensic evidence, including fingerprints and shoe impressions, led police to the suspects.

All four suspects are facing charges of burglary, attempted burglary, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property. They remain at the Cumberland County Jail.
