Bangor’s Curtis Worcester shuts down Hampden for Comrades’ 11th Legion baseball win

BANGOR — Curtis Worcester threw eight shutout innings, scattering seven hits and three walks while striking out nine to help Bangor shut out Hampden 10-0 in American Legion baseball action Sunday.

Nic Cota singled twice and drove in two runs for 11-1 Bangor and Tyler LaPlante chipped in with a two-run single. Seth Freudenberger added a single, double and RBI while Brendan Moore singled twice.

Spencer Hartsgrove singled and doubled for 6-6 Hampden.

At Brewer, Cody Caruso pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and walking two to help give Penquis the win.

Ryan Rebar pitched two innings, giving up one hit to get the win in relief for 3-8 Penquis. Dylan Graffam doubled and scored two runs.

Kyle McLain pitched eight innings, giving up four hits and two runs for 6-6 Brewer. McLain also had an RBI single and Tony Bissell had an RBI single.
