Motor City Legion baseball team captures 12th victory

MILLINOCKET — Andrew Catlin tripled, singled and drove in two runs to help Motor City defeat the Northern Lumber 16-4 in an American Legion baseball game Monday.

Sean O’Donnell chipped in with two singles and an RBI for Motor City, which improved to 12-1. Casey Estes added a double and sacrifice fly while Cam Archer singled, drove in a run and stole two bases.

Logan McLaughlin doubled and singled for the 3-9 Northern Lumber and Jordan Morrow added a triple and RBI.

Hampden 17, Penquis 10

At Dover Foxcroft, Matt Palmer blasted three home runs and drove in seven runs to power Hampden by Penquis.

Kevin Fredrich chipped in with two doubles and three RBIs for the winners and Scott Kolikowski added a two-run single.

Hampden took an early 7-1 lead and in the bottom third, but Ryan Wilks got it started for Penquis with a double and Penquis rallied for four runs. Hampden then proved to be too strong, scoring four more in the fifth and sixth, capped by Palmer’s third homer.

Dylan Graffam recorded two hits and three RBIs for Penquis while Wilks, Casey Jordan and Brandon Spragg each chipped in with two hits.

Motor City 15, Calais 3

At Calais Sunday, Casey Estes took a no-hitter into the sixth inning when Logan Johnson broke it up, but Motor City cruised to its 11th win.

Sean O’Donnell paced 11-1 Motor City with a home run and and three singles. Evan Pelkey chipped in with a home run, double and single. Estes helped his own cause with a single, triple and home run. He gave up one earned run in his seven innings of work.

Johnson singled twice and scored two runs for 0-12 Calais.
