Houlton rallies, eliminates Lincoln in Little League All-Star tourney


LINCOLN — Houlton overcame a 3-0 first-inning deficit by scoring 17 unanswered runs to eliminate Lincoln from the District 3 11-12 baseball tournament 17-3 in Little League All-Star action Friday.

Nick Perfitt led 1-1 Houlton with four singles and four RBIs; Billon Buzzell singled twice and drove in a run, Abe Lorom tripled, singled and drove in a run and Isiah Bouchard singled and finished with two RBIs.

Lorom also struck out five and walked two in 2-1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

For 1-2 Lincoln, Connor Robertson hit an RBI double, Max Woodman had an RBI single and Alex Brown singled.

Holbrook 10, Millinocket 0

At Millinocket, Levi Williamson allowed only three hits while striking out seven and not walking a batter to help Holbrook eliminate Millinocket.

Holbrook is now 2-1 while Millinocket finished at 0-2.

Zach Duncan led Holbrook with a double and triple. Joe Murphy chipped in with a single and double, Collin Rhodes-Doyle tripled and Nate Smith doubled.

For Millinocket, Seth Garvin doubled while Justin Thompson and Cameron Butler each added a single.

Acadians 11 vs. Machias 4

At Beal field in Machias, Nick Carson doubled twice and starting pitcher Brett Daley struck out eight to help the Acadians beat Machias.

The two teams meet again Monday in Bar Harbor to decide the D1 champ.

Jack Dacourte chipped in with a double and two singles for the Acadians. Sam Mitchell added a double and Daley singled.

Jeffrey Graham notched three singles to spark Machias and Derek Maker added a single. Relief pitcher Zain Fitzsimmons struck out three.
