BANGOR, Maine — A local transient is facing charges of disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest after he got into a fight with another man and ran from police.

Daniel Roberts, 22, was throwing punches with the other man near the fire station on Main Street when police pulled up just after 10 p.m. Thursday, according to Bangor police Sgt. Garry Higgins.

When Officer Josh Kuhn arrived, the two men separated and Roberts fled the scene on foot, according to Higgins.

Roberts got about halfway up Parker Street before Kuhn tracked him down and took him into custody, the sergeant said.

Neither man was injured in the scuffle. Roberts was booked into the Penobscot County Jail.
