Acadians eliminate Bucksport in Little League All-Star game

BAR HARBOR — Seth Clark pitched a two-hitter, striking out seven and walking one, to help Acadians eliminate Bucksport 10-0 in a District 1 Little League All-Star game in the ages 11-12 tourney Thursday.

Ezra Johnson lined a triple and a two-run double and scored there times for the 3-1 winners, who play Ellsworth on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bar Harbor for the right to face Coastal in the championship round. Oliver Johnston hit two RBI singles, including game-ender.

Tanner Stegner and losing pitcher Brandyn Findlay each singled for 1-2 Bucksport.

Lindsay McEadom pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts to carry Acadian to a 14-1 victory over Machias in the District 1 ages 9-10 all-star softball championship game.

Olivia Huckins registered nine strikeouts in a losing cause for Machias.

At Hampden, Casey Sudbeck threw a no-hitter, striking out 14, to lead Hampden to victory.

Sudbeck helped his own cause with a home run, triple and two RBIs. Derek Gendreau chipped in with a double while Tyler Knights, Nick Robidoux, Cole Tweedie, Nick Lorenzo and Dylan Stanley each added a single.
