Acadia All-Stars beat Calais in Little League tourney

CALAIS — Nick Stanley doubled and drove in two runs to help Acadia beat Calais 8-2 in a District 1 Little League All-Star baseball game in the ages 11-12 tourney Monday.

Ezra Johnson and Oliver Johnson each chipped in with a triple with Johnson driving in a run. Jacob Mitchell singled and Oliver Johnson and Nick Stanley split the pitching duties, each giving up a run and three hits with Johnson striking out five and Stanley fanning three.

Greg Mitchell doubled, tripled and drove in two runs for Calais. Drew Hayward and Riley Russell each added a single.

D3 baseball, 9-10

Hermon 10, Bangor East 0

At Hampden, Jacque Labonte posted two singles to help Hermon post a shutout of Bangor East.

Shawn Hoogterp doubled and Adam Rush knocked in two runs for the winners.

Sebasticook 16, Brewer 10

At Hamdpen, Brendan Noyes smacked two doubles to help Sebasticook beat Brewer.

Gabe Gilley hit two singles and Andy Hopkins added a double for the winners.

Marty Hewes paced Brewer with two singles, while C.J. Horr tripled and Josh Hart doubled.

How to report games

All-star baseball and softball games should be reported to the BDN via email to: bdnsports@bangordailynews.com.

Coaches are required to list information for both teams, with first and last names of players. Info should include key highlights and stats for leading hitters and pitchers.

Linescores may also be included.

The game result should be emailed as soon as possible on the day it is played.

The host team is responsible for reporting games.
