SOUTH ADDISON, Maine — The Downeast Coastal Conservancy is grooming a new trail at Ingersoll Point in South Addison.

A crew of volunteers is helping to clear a trail that begins at the Union Church on Mooseneck Road in South Addison.

The area’s main trail is the Adler Woods trail, named in honor of Dorothy Adler, who donated her land to Downeast Coastal Conservancy in 2009. The trail winds from the parking area through the woods, past the old Ingersoll homestead and out to a rocky beach on Wohoa Bay, which is a favorite spot for picnics. Other trails provide different loops off the Adler Woods Trail.

The conservancy will host a trail dedication and inaugural hike at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14.
