Perry leads Sebasticook Little League All-Stars by Lincoln

LINCOLN — Josh Perry struck out 11 and walked three in 4 2/3 innings, stroked a run-scoring single and scored twice to propel Sebasticook Valley by Lincoln 7-3 in a District 3 Little League All-Star game in the ages 11-12 baseball tourney Friday.

The game was called in the top of the sixth due to inclement weather.

Ben Southwick smacked a two-run double for the winners, while Zach Hartsgrove provided an RBI single and Josh Smestead added a single and scored two runs.

Max Woodman paced Lincoln with a double, a single and two runs scored. Connor Robertson knocked in two runs with two singles to support losing pitcher Tyler Tolman.

Calais 11, Coastal 8

At Calais, Sam Cundiff had hits in three different innings to help lift Calais to the victory.

Blake Collins was another offensive leader, scoring twice, and struck out five in two innings of relief.

Sam Harmon stroked a two-run double for Coastal. Grayson Eaton struck out six in four innings on the mound.

D3 softball, 11-12

Houlton 22, Bangor 2

At Hermon, Houlton pounded out 20 hits and scored 11 runs in the sixth inning to eliminate Bangor.

Houlton (3-1) advances to Saturday’s 3 p.m. District 3 championship game against Hermon in the double-elimination tourney.

Kolleen Bouchard spearheaded Houlton with five hits, while Aspen Flewelling, Victoria Holmes and Tyra Gentile registered four apiece.

Gena Wilson had a double for 2-2 Bangor, which was eliminated.

D3 softball, 9-10

Hermon 10, Bangor 0

At Hermon, Olivia Nash and Olivia Albert combined to pitch a two-hitter as the Hermon ages 9-10 all-stars claimed the District 3 softball championship with a 10-0 victory over Bangor.

Hermon advances to the state tournament beginning July 14 in Auburn.

Nash (double, single, 2 RBI) and Albert (2 singles, RBI) also paced the offense for Hermon. Breanne Oakes posted a single and a two-run, inside-the-park home run that invoked the 10-run rule.

Kayla Hamel and Jayda Smith each singled for Bangor.
