Teen facing charges after running stop sign in fatal accident

FALMOUTH, Maine — A North Yarmouth teenager was summoned for running a red light in connection with a crash that took the life of a woman Saturday, according to police.

Ian Philbrick, 17, was cited for running a red light at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and Johnson Road, according to Falmouth Police Chief Ed Tolan.

Glenice Hutchins, 80, of Falmouth was killed in the crash while Albert Anderson, 67, also of Falmouth suffered injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

Hutchins was a passenger in Anderson’s vehicle, Tolan said.
