We will probably never know what really happened that morning.

    • Anonymous

Well dont worry…the state police investigators know what happened.  The beauty of technology.  Too many text messages and too many recorded conversations.  The public will learn the actual facts of this case during the preceedings.  Public speculation has caused alot of contradiction.  The State Police do not care about opinions,  only facts in the case.  I would say the facts are prevailing.

      • Anonymous

It will be interesting no doubt to see how it unfolds. I betcha it isn’t simply a dispute over a paint job.

        • Anonymous

It will be interesting to see how it plays out, that I am in 100% agreement with.  As to the reasons that the incident happened,  I do not know.  I do not speculate on that.  Anytime that someone is murdered or harmed in any way, I wait for the facts from the police before making any speculation.  I have learned that I cannot place judgement on an incident because of public speculation.  It is easier for me to remain unbiased until facts are presented.  In my personal opinion,  Noone won in this.  A young man was shot in the head, another wounded almost to the point of death, and yet another shot as well.  And then their is the shooter,  whose family is in torment as well.  But, as I said, the majority of the truth will unfold in court.  And then, and only then, will I be listening.

        • Russell Golden

          I’ll take that bet

    • Old Bear

I bet a drug deal gone sour that early in the morning. But the state will spend thousands of dollars on the case.

      • Anonymous

It doesn’t matter what the circumstances were. Murder is Murder.

      • Anonymous

Read the affidavit it seems pretty obvious from both sides it wasn’t drug related….. Everyone seems to be in agreement about the paint job gone bad

  • Anonymous

Does it really matter what the circumstances behind it were? 3 men were shot by Mr. Carter. One of them is dead- shot execution style. His family and friends are mourning that loss. No matter what the reason behind it is, those people will never be the same, and deserve the opportunity to face that person in court.

    • Anonymous

Unfortunately Jemileesmom,  In this day and age and in this society it does matter what the circumstances behind the shootings are.  Depending on what those circumstances truly are,  will certainly sway peoples OPINIONS on their sympathy for the incident itself.

      • Anonymous

For example,  if this case turns out to be drug related, most people will not have as much sympathy for the victims.  However, if this case turns out to be a *paint job gone bad* than there will be more sympathetic views to this young mans murder.  Or if it is a combination of both.  Either way,  Public opinion is not important in a court of  law.  However, in a community where all parties live, it becomes a matter of importance to them.

        • Anonymous

Just so all of those that think this was drug related you can all go to hell. I know all of the parties involved in this case and the ONE that was execution-murdered… Was not into drugs… This was a paint job gone bad just like the court has already stated… Plus this was Mr. Carters way of making himself look like he’s a big bad person and for no one to cross him. Instead this just shows how aweful of a person he really is. My heart and mind is with Randy’s family and that will never change. Mr. Carter will sit in jail the rest of his life for what he did and he knows it… Other then that there is nothing out there for you or anyone else that does not know the victims to say. People need to stay out of it if it does not concern them…..

          • Anonymous

Seriously??? Do you actually read any of my posts??  And the fact that two of us were answering to yet another ignorant post which has now been flagged.  So telling me that I dont know the victims is a far cry from the truth.  Meanmommaof2,  being factual does not state being ignorant.  Being factual states that the entire truth of the story needs to be emerge not public speculation.  And this situation concerns me probably more than it concerns you!  But people need to see facts NOT OPINIONS and rumors which hasnt helped this case from the beginning.  So please read our entire posts before stating anything that you might not be concerned with, like this answer to a post who was answering someone else !

It amazes me that no matter how much evidence to the contrary comes out, people still have this compulsion to believe it’s about drugs. In the end people are entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts.

    • Anonymous

Russell,  I have researched this case pretty intensely,  I have not found any factual evidence that this situation was or was not drug related.  Do you know where the evidence is located that this situation does not involve drugs?  I would love to have access to that evidence.

      • Russell Golden

I won’t say where I got my info due to the fact this trial hasn’t even begun, but I can say that most of what I have been told has been born out to be true by the nature of injuries including the  trajectory of the bullet and by the DA statements as to what the ballistics evidence shows.

The State Police and DA have 100 access to the text messages exchanged before the incidents and NONE of the victims have been charged with assault, attempted assault or even trespass, so what does that tell you?

I know my friend and I believe the statements my friend has made that are ** publicly available** and thus far, the evidence has supported all my friend has said.

        • Anonymous

Was only questioning the statement you made prior to the new report about the drug related evidence.  And I know about the text messages, recorded conversations, and ballistic evidence.  However, was questioning evidence of drug relationship only.  I also know who has and has not been charged.  Your answer to my question does not contain any real evidence of fact other than a persons statement who is speaking to you.    The problem with most of this incident is people making statements that have no physical evidence to back it.  If you make a statement prior to a report than you should be able to back that statement with facts.  And I know more of this story than you are aware.  My only question to you was to back up the statement that you made previous.  Your response to me does not do that whatsoever.  You talk of the injuries and charges, not the evidence of which I asked.

          • Russell Golden

My statements were made on FaceBook the day after. The evidence to the contrary was heard in the courtroom this morning in the form of both the DA and defense attorney stating this was not drug related, but rather over a paint job. I also based it off the fact that most of what I was told was backed up by the forensic evidence, which lends credibility to the rest of account. People who know them have known this to be true since day one due to the relationship between them all. Of course, none of us would have ever believed this would happen over a paint job either, but that’s why I said truth is stranger than fiction.

In any event, the public will think what they want, despite the evidence to the contrary. In some people’s minds the victim’s last name will mean he deserved what he got and that the incident must have been drug related. They are entitled to their opinion, but the facts say otherwise. If it had been drug related, the defense attorney would be all over it to help his client. That alone should be enough to make people think.

          • Anonymous

Yes Russell, you did make similar statements on Facebook,  again statements made prior to any EVIDENCE that would back it up. The DA and Defense Attorney’s claim this morning was that it was their belief that this was not drug related.  However, you made a statement prior to this being public knowledge and you were questioned as to showing the facts on your statement.  The new report filing was after the statement that you made.  And you are right, the public will think what they choose too.  That is why you must be certain, when making such a statement, that you can, at the time verify your facts.  My point is simple.  The opinions and speculation of the public has made this situation a public controversy, when in fact, if you allow the evidence to be introduced to the public, it would not be such a controversy.   I admire the loyalty you have for your friend,  however, the public needs to see and hear the facts of the case, not the *biased opinion of a loyal friend*.  That is my entire point to any of my posts.  FACTS OVER FICTION.  If you always have facts than you cannot add to the speculation that surrounds this case.  It isnt a debate.

          • Anonymous

Finally someone who talks about what makes sense! Forensic told this story backed up by the witnesses who told the truth. Trading blows first??? Really? 2 people already shot and the victim is going to stick around and trade blows? He was trying to leave, unarmed and no threat sitting in a vehicle. The state police say he was in his vehicle for a reason. I’m quite sure their forensics back that up. The facts are in the footprints, where the bullets were found and all those text messages. Police could put it together without the witness statements. Drug related?? I’m quite sure if that was the case, it would have showed up in all those texts. Which is why both sides are saying it was not. Think people…..

      • Anonymous

The article has now been updated to say that while the confrontation was not ABOUT drugs, some of those involved were ON drugs.

    • Anonymous

I was kind of thinking the same thing as real1969. I recall reading witness statements that say it wasn’t drug related, but I don’t recall any evidence being revealed. I would also be interested in reading anything mentioning evidence that confirms the witness statements.

      • Russell Golden

The article was updated at 7pm. Read the parts that describe what’s in the affidavit and also that BOTH the defense attorney and the DA made it clear they do not believe drugs were a motivator (other than the shooter being under the influence and the victims -possibly- being under the influence).

The sad part is that all parties were friends for years. Normally when something like this happens it’s over a woman, but in this case it just happened to be a paint job. As I said the day after this happened – the truth can be stranger than fiction.

        • Anonymous

If you will notice I commented on real1969’s response to yours 39 minutes ago stating that the story had been updated. That means I already saw it. I was questioning your ‘inside knowledge’ BEFORE that happened.

Very interesting quote from Carter himself shortly after blaming his girlfriend for the shooting “I lost control on Randy. I’m gonna pay for it. The evidence will show it” there ya go all you haters and know it alls!

Well than I am proud to say that I am a low-life.  You are personally attacking an entire group of people.  Attacking their parents is absolutely ridiculous.  You need to take a step back and look at reality.  Their parents were not even involved in this incident.  Your statement is biased and unfounded.

the only low life i see one here is you my friend.. have a little respect for the family of these people involved despite your personal problems with these people. if you have an axe to grind, this isn’t the place to do it

We waste taxpayers dollars on this guy…bring back the death penalty.

    • Anonymous

It costs more to execute a person than it is to keep them in jail for life. If a person is sentenced to death, they get more appeals, among other things that ‘lifers’ don’t, costing the taxpayers MORE money.

  • Russell Golden

I stopped worrying about what people think of me long ago and find my life to be much happier for it. What matters most to me is loyalty and love. My friend isn’t perfect, but he is loyal and that’s makes him a better person than many imo.

Loyalty above all else except honor.

  • Anonymous

I hope that when this all said and done, the trial is over, the accused has been found guilty or innocent, that the friends and family of the side that didn’t ‘win’ doesn’t retaliate.

  • Let who is without sin cast the first stone… As for those of you who have no personal stake in this unfortunate series of events, other than ammunition for gossip, please, GET A LIFE! My best friend is dead- let him rest in peace. As for Mike, may GOD have mercy on his soul, as I speculate, no matter what his sentence be, he will not live to see the end of it.

All over a ‘bad paint job’….  BRILLIANT.

    • Anonymous

      My thoughts exactly.

    • Anonymous

The reason behind the original disagreement is silly, I agree. Add the fact that some of the key players (including the shooter) had drugs and/or alcohol in their system, and that changes things considerably. Some mild altering substances can make a person do things they wouldn’t ordinarily do, like shoot a friend of theirs over a girl, a pizza ordered wrong, or in this case- a bad paint job.

The Sinclair family, you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers for the loss of your son…..In this scenario, no one really gets any closure……or wins….

  • Lewis Tracy

I have to admit my first reaction was that this was drug related.  As the case unfolded and people involved were subsequently picked up for drug offenses I was sure of it. Now I have to admit that with the evidence showing that it wasn’t drug related I was wrong.  I also have to say I wish I had been right.  It would still make this a horrible crime but it would have made more sense to me.  It would be so much easier to just chock this up to a drug deal gone bad, than to have some one killing their life long friend over a paint job on a pick up truck.  That just makes it that much sadder to me.

It doesnt matter what the real reason may be. In the end what really matters is that Randy Sinclair was someones son, someones brother, someones uncle and someones friend. Unless you are one of the lucky ones who has never lost a loved one by some sort of selfish act, you will understand that! My heart goes out to the Sinclair family and even to the Carter family because one selfish, cowardly person has ruined these 2 families for the rest of their lives! (& yes, selfish and cowardly does describe Carter since he tried to pin all this on his girlfriend!)

It would be one thing if someone came to your house at 4:30 am, entered your home, and you were defending yourself.
Randy Sinclair was shot between the eyes execution style, from 12-18 inches away, while sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle.

He basically admitted that he killed Randy by saying he lost control. Now he should do the right thing and just plead guilty so the Sinclair family doesn’t have to sit through the trial. He executed Randy Sinclair and deserves to be locked up for the rest of his natural life.

They did not brings guns to Mikes…Mike did.  And when you show me a statement that all four of these men went up to Mikes porch, instead of three of them remaining in their vehicles down by the road, where Mike proceeded to walk down and shoot them, well show me that evidence that they were all up on Mikes porch…Where is that in the affidavit?  You cant because its not.  Show the facts, not your personal opinion

      • if 4 people went to break into a store, but
only 1 went into the store while the other 4 waited in
        a vehicle…  all 4 are still guilty

        • Anonymous

This is by far considerably different than a store being broke into.  Show me evidence in the affidavit that the ONE person who approached the house was there to break in.  Show me the evidence.  You cant because there isnt any.  You are missing the entire point.  Michael Carter walked out his door and shot Torrey Garland before he even came up the steps.  Then MICHAEL proceeded to head down the driveway where he continued shooting and shot RANDY SINCLAIR in the head at a distance of 12-18 inches while the young man was still in his vehicle.  And shot yet another person.  How can you possibly even begin to justify the events.  Read the Affidavit!  I am sorry if you have a personal connection to Michael and/or Tacy.  For that I have sympathy for you because it has obviously shadowed your reasoning!  However, it will not shadow anyone who looks for facts in the case.  In my OPINION, Michael will be sentenced for Murder and Tacy will have  some degree of charges brought against her as well.  This is how this trial will go.  Good luck with trying to justify the murder in your own mind.  But as it reads, that is exactly what it is.

Think I’ll go grab some buddies, we’ll all take some drugs, and go bang on someone’s door at 4 am, knowing there’s a confrontation coming.  Sounds brilliant.

The 9 page Affidavit is very informative.  I would recommend to all to read it intently.  Remember, this is not written by biased people,  it is written strictly by investigators and the medical Examiner.  In my opinion only,  I would say that Mr. Carter will not be acquitted of this crime, and furthermore, I personally feel that Ms. Mullins will have charges to some degree brought against her as well.  Just my OPINION!

    • Anonymous

Pitbull,  Lets correct something in your statement shall we.  Mike Carter was under the influence as well.  And he has a large criminal record.  If he was that scared, as you claim, there was a remedy.  Its called 911.  In short, he created his own remedy with a 9mm.  I am  not debating this anymore.  I have had enough of one sided comments on this situation.  You need to read the affidavit that is clearly stated above.  This would not have been a gang murder nor would this have been 4 on 1 when clearly only one of the men went near the porch.  It is clear.  I am sorry that your biased opinion does not want you to see the facts.  The facts that Carter clearly said himself.  Mike Carter is where he is because he shot a young man in his vehicle at point blank range.  In my book that is considered an execution.  Read the affidavit please.  People need to stop acting as if shooting someone is ok.  It is NOT.  Use the phone before a gun!

      • who ever had the problem with a truck, should
have called the court and set up a small claims
case….NOT  have 4 people sent to fight 1 person

Carters criminal history and being under the infuence
DID NOT give the right for 4 people to
        fight him

the 4 aggressors thought sure they were going
to win an unfair fight on 1 person. they
did get into an unfair like they planned but
        they lost

LET ME TELL ALL OF THOSE THAT DON’T KNOW THE SINCLAIR FAMILY OR ANY OF THEM INVOLVED. MICHEAL CARTER HAS ALREADY MADE MANY OF STATMENTS THAT MAKE THIS CASE A CUT AND DRY ISSUE. HE KNOWS WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG AND STILL DID IT ANYWAYS. HE ALSO HAS TOLD THE COPS THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF A PAINT JOB GONE BAD SO PEOPLE NEED TO KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT ABOUT DRUGS. ALSO THE CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THIS CASE DO NOT MATTER WHEN MIKE KILLED RANDY IN COLD BLOOD EXECUTION STYLE AND FOR WHAT WHEN RANDY WAS ALREADY IN THE VEHICLE TRYING TO LEAVE. MY HEART AND MIND GO OUT TO THE FAMILY OF RANDY. I HAVE KNOWN THE FAMILY ALL OF MY LIFE AND AM REALLY CLOSE TO THEM. I ALSO HAVE KNOWN THE REST OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED THAT MORNING. I WILL SAY THAT THE MOURNING OF RANDY WILL NEVER STOP BUT THE RELIEF OF HIS MURDER BEING IN JAIL FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE WILL ATLEAST HELP EASE SOME OF THE PAIN. SO PEOPLE NEED TO LEAVE IT ALONE AND LET THE COPS AND COURTS DO THEIR JOBS…
