O’Donnell leads Motor City past Brewer


BANGOR — Sean O’Donnell recorded a 5-for-5 effort with three RBIs to propel Motor City by Brewer 11-7 in an American Legion baseball game at Husson University’s Winkin Complex Sunday.

Casey Estes added three hits and scored three runs for Motor City while Evan Pelkey came in relief to earn the victory.

Matt Morrow had three hits and scored three runs for Brewer.

Hampden 11, Calais 6

At Hampden, Chad Martin’s two-run single capped a six-run outburst in the first inning en route to the Hampden victory.

Sean Smith chipped in with three singles and an RBI for the winners. Kevin Frederick added two singles.

Ryan Lincoln recorded a double and two RBIs for Calais and P.J. Descoteaux had an RBI single.

Bangor 10, Penquis 5

At Dover-Foxcroft, Bangor was trailing 5-0 heading into the fifth but scored 10 unanswered runs and capitalized on Penquis errors while improving to 5-0.

Christian Corneil paced Bangor with a single, double, two RBIs and three stolen bases. Carl Farnham chipped in with a single and double and Dylan Morris added two singles. Jordan Treadwell earned the win by scattering 11 hits and five runs in eight innings, striking out four.

Ryan Rebar had two hits and two RBIs for 2-3 Penquis and Caleb Richard added two singles.
