Acadians, Calais open Little League All-Star tourney with victories

BAR HARBOR — The Acadians opened the Little League all-star baseball tourney action with a 16-1 victory over Coastal Friday in a District 1 contest in the ages 9-10 division.

Sam Mitchell paced the 1-0 Acadians with an RBI triple and a two-run double. Nick Duley chipped in with a two run-double and Kyle Nicholson struck out six batters in the first two innings.

Parker Allen singled and scored a run for 0-1 Coastal of Blue Hill and Sam Harmon added a single.

The Acadians will play Ellsworth in Bar Harbor on Monday while Coastal’s next game is Wednesday.

At Bucksport, Tyler Winchester and James Terrill each recorded RBI singles to help Bucksport prevail.

Blake Collins tripled and recorded three RBIs for Calais and John Socobasin added an RBI triple.

Coaches are required to list information for both teams, with first and last names of players. Info should include key highlights and stats for leading hitters and pitchers.

Linescores may also be included.

The game result should be emailed as soon as possible on the day it is played.

The host team is responsible for reporting games.
