TORRANCE, Calif. – Mac Pedersen passed away June 8, 2012. Mac was a native Californian and was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Los Angeles.
He attended Beverly Hills High School, and while at Beverly Hills High Mac was president of the Boys League, varsity football letterman, member of the Knights and four-year member of the championship school orchestra. His education at the University of California Berkeley was interrupted by World War II, where he spent two and a half years in Europe in the Army rising to the rank of captain. Returning to Southern California, he resumed his studies at UCLA and got his Bachelor of Arts degree. After a short stint in the insurance business he found his place with US Steel Supply Division, where he worked as inventory analyst, buyer, for 37 years. He has since enjoyed his retirement for more than 25 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley. He is survived by his two sons, Steve Pedersen of Bangor and Tyler Pedersen of Long Beach, Calif.; and granddaughters, Hope, Daley and Ivy.
Private memorial services by Neptune Society are planned for his immediate family.
