BELFAST, Maine — Youth and adults used swords, shields, tridents and even crossbows as they fought a pitched mock battle Friday evening in Heritage Park.

The event was part of the Game Loft’s annual year-end party.

“It’s a lot of fun,” said 14-year-old Dakota Gross of Orland. “I’ve met a lot of people, and they’re all really nice. We work as teams, and we’re close friends.”
