BANGOR, Maine — Although the items she allegedly stole from Kohl’s on Stillwater Avenue were well under the $1,000 threshold for a felony theft charge, a Bangor woman was charged last week with Class C felony theft nonetheless.
That’s because Kristi Hasenbank, 31, had two prior arrests for theft, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.
Hasenbank was arrested on June 12 after police were called to Kohl’s to look for a shoplifting suspect who fled toward Texas Roadhouse, Edwards said. He said that when Officer Taylor Bagley arrived, he found a woman matching the suspect’s description near the steakhouse and identified her as Hasenbank.
During a search of her purse, Bagley found jewelry that appeared never to have been worn, Edwards said.
