Street closures planned for Cool Sounds Concert Series, Outdoor Market

BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Police Department reminds motorists that some downtown streets and parking spots will be closed on Thursdays to accommodate the Downtown Outdoor Market and Cool Sounds Concert Series.

The series runs each Thursday from June 21 through Aug. 30.

The market will feature tents, kiosks and booths along Broad Street, in front of West Market Square, to the area along Pickering Square behind the Freese’s Building. Vendors will sell food, clothing, jewelry and other products from 5 to 8 p.m.

The concert series will be take place at Pickering Square from 7 to 8 p.m.

During the concert and market series, Broad Street at Main Street, and Merchants Plaza, which is the roadway running along the Anthem building, will close at 3 p.m. on Thursdays.

Signs notifying motorists, business owners and residents of the road closings and parking bans will be put up on Wednesday mornings. The affected streets and parking spots will reopen about 8 p.m.
