PORTAGE LAKE – Blanche Yelle, 80, died June 16, 2012, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born June 19, 1931, in Fall River, Mass., daughter of Napoleon and Malvina (Desmarais) Boucher.

She had worked for many years at a medical supply manufacturing company in Massachusetts. Blanche and her husband relocated to Portage Lake 19 years ago. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Unit 9699, Ashland. She also was a member of Over 50 Club, Portage Lake; Ashland Senior Citizens Club; and Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her husband, Albert M. Yelle of Portage Lake; two daughters, Jeannine Babbitt, and Debrah Joyce and husband, Tony, all of Marion, Ind.; one son, Richard Bryant and wife, Chris, of Anderson, Ind.; one sister, Rose Ferreira of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.

Relatives and friends may call 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, where a funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. William Harris officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery.
