HAMPDEN – Albert Austin Dunton, 93, died June 13, 2012, in Cypress, Calif. He was born April 17, 1919, in Bangor, son of George Austin Dunton and Mertie May Dunton.

Albert grew up in Hampden then joined the U.S. Army, served in the 5th and 46th Armored Infantry divisions in Europe, 1944-1946. Albert drove a bus in Portland for 11 years before moving to California.

Albert is survived by daughters, Diane Fryatt, Paula Carrow and Suzanne Potts; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Barbara (Cobb) Dunton; and son, Gregory Dunton.

He will be buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. Condolences to the family may be expressed at
