LEWISTON, Maine — Dozens of newcomers to Maine have been sworn in as U.S. citizens.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services held Friday’s special Flag Day naturalization ceremony at Lewiston Middle School. Fifty-two people from 23 countries were part of the event.
Those being sworn in live in towns across southern and central Maine and come from countries ranging from Argentina, Bulgaria and China to Iraq, Poland and Somalia.
