BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 36-year-old Monmouth man was arrested on an operating under the influence charge on Friday after allegedly crashing his car into three different vehicles as he traveled down Maine Street.

Officers received a call from a witness who reported seeing Patrick Cotnoir, 36, of Monmouth strike three cars, according to Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department. The witness then used a car to block Cotnoir from leaving the scene.

Cotnoir was headed north on Maine Street just after 5 p.m. when his 2007 Chrysler allegedly struck the rear of a 2009 Chevrolet parked in front of Henry and Marty Restaurant at 61 Maine St., Hagan said Tuesday.

The witness reported that just before that crash, Cotnoir rear-ended a 2005 GMC in front of Joshua’s Restaurant at 123 Maine St. and then struck an unoccupied 2004 Ford parked on Maine Street near Jenny Station. The crashes all caused little or no damage, Hagan said.
