Holden residents elect new town councilor, two school board members

HOLDEN, Maine — Residents selected David R. Black over Richard L. Barclay to sit on the Town Council and replace outgoing Councilor Joel Swanton, who decided not to seek re-election.

Black tallied 199 votes and Barclay earned 162, according to unofficial elections results provided by Town Clerk Wanda Libbey.

Retired teacher Joy Knowles and Ryan Haulk ran uncontested for the RSU 63 school board seats of Mario Teisel and Kevin Mills, who are stepping down.

Knowles earned 344 votes and Haulk took in 278.

Residents also endorsed the school budget, 290-128.
