FORT KENT, Maine — Fort Kent Community High School recently announced its honor parts for the Class of 2012. Graduation exercises were held 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, in the high school gymnasium.

Kate M. Morneault, daughter of Lisa and Mark Morneault, was named valedictorian of the Class of 2012. She will attend Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., where she will major in marketing and communications.

Throughout her four years of high school, she participated in National Honor Society, Key Club, and the Student Council. She served as class president throughout her four years of high school and served as the president of the National Honor Society. She was also a member of the girls varsity soccer team as well as the Nordic and alpine ski teams.

Sophie R. Brickman, daughter of Erica Nadelhaft and Scott Brickman, was named salutatorian of the Class of 2012. She will attend Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.

Throughout her four years of high school, she participated in Key Club, Youth Voices, Natural Helpers and National Honor Society. She was a member of the girls varsity softball team and she has been active with the Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp.
