Honor parts for Piscataquis Community High School, Guilford

GUILFORD, Maine — Kelly Bussell, daughter of Douglas and Cheryl Bussell of Parkman, has been named valedictorian of her class. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono and major in communications science and disorders.

Bussell is president of the National Honor Society, is on the Civil Rights Team, Envirothon and Prom Committee. She plays flute, piccolo and keyboard in the Band, Pep Band and Jazz Band. She has played field hockey each year as a right back.

Sarah Hoak, daughter of John and Cindy Hoak of Cambridge, has been named salutatorian for her class. She plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono and major in athletic training.

Hoak is a four-year honor student, has participated in Student Council, School Board, Civil Rights Team, the Every 15 Minutes organization and the National Honor Society and was a delegate to Girls State. She also is a four-year varsity athlete who was awarded captain, coach’s and academic awards in each sport.
