BANGOR, Maine — Police were called to Spring Street to deal with a screaming man Sunday night and minutes after leaving, they returned and arrested him for disorderly conduct, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

Police were called about 9:50 p.m. for a “male destroying an apartment,” the sergeant said.

Just minutes earlier, Officers Josh Kuhn and David Farrar had responded to a report of a male screaming in the street at the same address.

Clayton White, 27, who is listed as having an Old Town address, was given a warning to stop screaming or be arrested during the earlier call. After he complied, Kuhn, Farrar and Lt. Tim Reid left the scene.

“Less than two minutes after we cleared, we got called back,” Edwards said, reading from Kuhn’s report.

White was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and remained there Monday morning, the sergeant said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
