MANCHESTER, N.H. — Wildlife officers have tranquilized a wayward bear that was found wandering the streets of New Hampshire’s largest city.
The Fish and Game Department said the 3-year-old bear was spotted Sunday on the city’s west side and tracked to Wall Street, where it climbed a tree.
Authorities shot the 140-pound animal with a tranquilizer gun and moved it to a Fish and Game vehicle.
Officials told WMUR-TV the bear will be taken to the White Mountain National Forest and released to the wild.
