School budget vote set for Bangor residents

By Andrew Neff, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — Residents have a chance to vote on the $41,238,725 Bangor School Department budget for 2013 on Tuesday, June 12.

The short ballot contains just one school budget validation referendum question and requires a “yes” or “no” vote after the following text:

“Do you favor approving the Bangor School Department Budget for the upcoming school year that was adopted at the latest regional school unit budget meeting and that includes locally-raised funds that exceed the required local contribution as described in the Essential Programs and Services Funding Act?”

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bangor Civic Center. Early voting concluded Thursday evening.
