Accident injures one, briefly blocks traffic on Interstate 95 in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Maine — One person was injured and traffic was briefly blocked after a minor accident on Interstate 95 northbound, according to police.

Two vehicles collided around noon Tuesday, according to Maine State Police trooper Joe Christian. One person had minor injuries.

An SUV was pushed into a ditch on the right shoulder after a Jeep Wrangler followed too closely while the SUV was braking. The Wrangler briefly blocked both lanes of traffic before both cars were towed away, Christian said.
