Bark for Life unleashes fundraising power of dogs

BANGOR, Maine — The Greater Bangor American Cancer Society Bark For Life, a canine event to fight cancer, will snap on the leashes Saturday, June 9, at the Hollywood Casino Raceway. The community event honors the caregiving qualities of canine companions.

Registration begins at 4 p.m. The walk begins at 7:30 p.m. and equals one lap around the track (formerly known as Bass Park Raceway).

Dogs must be on a leash at all times and dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Advance registration is $20, $30 the day of the walk, $15 to each person walking in a team. Survivor registration is $10.

Dogs registered for the walk will receive a Bark for Life bandana.

Walkers who raise $100 will receive a Bark for Life T-shirt. Prizes will be given to the top fundraising dogs and teams.
