Fire damages Jonesport summer home

By Tom Walsh, BDN Staff

JONESPORT, Maine — A fire that heavily damaged an unoccupied summer home Thursday morning remains under investigation.

The unoccupied cottage on Old Town Road was filled with smoke when workers involved in a renovation arrived just after 8 a.m. Thursday. Responders included the Jonesport, Jonesboro and Addison volunteer fire departments.

Jonesport Fire Chief Boyde Crowley said the fire was contained within two hours.

Crowley said late Thursday afternoon that he could not release the name of the owners, who use the house as a summer residence, as they had yet to be notified of the fire.
