CAMILLE ‘DOC’ ALBERT

WASHBURN – Camille Albert, 78, beloved husband of 58 years to Brenda "Polly" Albert, died unexpectedly May 29, 2012. He was born July 19, 1933, in Fort Kent, son of Dr. Leonce Joseph Albert and Viola (Harvey) Albert.

Camille was employed as an educator/administrator for Washburn High School for 39 years. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather, served on Washburn Town Council and volunteered for Washburn Trail-Runners for many years. He loved fishing the rivers, snowmobiling and was an avid reader.

Camille is survived by his wife, Polly of Washburn; two children, Deborah Smith and her husband, Randy, and Danny Albert, both of Castle Hill; four grandchildren, Jamie Smith of Bangor, Nichole Smith and Ashlee Albert, both of Presque Isle, and Kelsey Albert of Washburn; one great-granddaughter, Meredith; three brothers, Father James Albert and Peter Albert of Cross Lake, Robert Albert of Huntington, Vt.; three sisters, Catherine Pelletier and Gertrude Albert of Fort Kent, and Lucille Dube of Hallowell; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Leonce and Viola Albert of Fort Kent; a son, Thomas Albert of Washburn; two brothers, Rodrique Albert and Maurice Albert of Fort Kent; and two sisters, Jackie Martin of Cross Lake and Muriel Moreau of Fort Kent.

In keeping with his wishes, the family will greet relatives and friends beginning 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at St. Catherine’s Church, Washburn, with a Christian Mass afterward beginning 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SAD 45, Washburn High School, care of Deborah Smith, 59 Houlton Road, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
