PRESQUE ISLE and FORT FAIRFIELD – Joseph H. Walker, 65, lost his battle with cancer Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home in Presque Isle. He was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Allagash.

Joseph worked for Fort Fairfield Utilities District for the past 26 years as a water plant operator.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joyce (Hatt) Walker of Presque Isle; three daughters, Becky Lynn Cote and husband, Roger, of Sanford, Crystal Walker of Manchester, N.H., and Susan Linton and husband, Scott, of Kingsland, Ga.; stepson, Andy Monahan and wife, Sharon, of Sorrento; 10 sisters, Linda Walker of Fort Fairfield, Marjorie Carney of Winn, Paula Cook of New Albany, Ind., Joann Nickerson of Presque Isle, Sharon Crane of Fort Fairfield, Trudy Travers of Port Orange, Fla., Kimberley Wrubel of New Albany, Ind., Tammie Donahue of Nashua, N.H., Lori Ann Walker of Perham and Viola St. Pierre of Bangor; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Iasiah; two aunts, Florence Davenport and Ella Walker, both of Fort Fairfield; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Cleda Hatt of Woodstock, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Winnifred (Hafford) Walker; two sisters, Carol Largen-Walker and Betty Jean Curless; and two brothers, Olan and Waymen Walker.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating.
