Veterans to be honored at John Street Church in Camden

CAMDEN, Maine — Retired and active members of all branches of the armed services and their families are invited to be honored in a special worship service at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, May 27, at the John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John St.

Members of the church recognize that their good fortune of living in a free society is due in great measure to the sacrifices of the thousands of men and women, and their families, who have defended our country for more than 200 years.

All men and women who have served in any capacity will be welcomed to the special service where a Boy Scout color guard will present the flag and the focus of worship and musical presentations during the service will pay tribute to all of our service people. Uniforms are optional.

Following the service, all in attendance are welcome to enjoy a luncheon and share stories of life in the armed force. Reservations are not required. For information, call 236-4829.
