TOPSHAM, Maine — Topsham police charged two Brunswick teens with criminal mischief and criminal trespass after they allegedly tried to enter through a fence of a business on Gray Street early the morning of May 15. That escapade tripped an alarm.
Interim Police Chief Christopher Lewis said police received the alarm call at 4:13 a.m. Sgt. Mark Gilliam and Officer William Collins both happened to be patrolling nearby and rushed to TRi- SPORTS, located at 23 Gray St.
Lewis said the teens fled the scene but were picked up by police exiting the woods in the area of Mount Ararat High School.
John Morong, 19, and a 16-year-old male juvenile — both of Brunswick — received summonses charging them with one count each of criminal mischief (Class E); criminal trespass (Class D); and possession of burglar’s tools (Class E).
The duo is due to appear in West Bath District Court on July 2.
