Well, well well…….ok Mr. Webster,   let’s talk a little more about voter faud,  shall we?

    • kennyh

       Charlie Webster’s a clown!

      • Tyke

.. as is Charlie Summers who totally backed him up in his lies.

        • Try reviewing the facts. Summers said the students voted legally, but probably should have registered their vehicles in Maine, since they were claiming to be residents.

          • Tyke

He went on a witch hunt after making a very big dumb public event of it.

He should have investigated (as is his job) and THEN issued a news release that no one had committed voter fraud but IF students had registered cars in their own names, not their parents’ (he had no idea if they did or not) then they should register those cars wherever they declared residency.

Even if they had registered cars and voted in Maine they could have perfectly legally re-registered in their original states as long as they did not vote in two states in the SAME election.

Summers made a complete fool of himself.

          •  No, Summers did what he was duty-bound to do, by investigating allegations of voter fraud. He’s the Secretary of State, and that’s his job.

You just don’t like anyone attacking your “real” party, which is the Democrats.

          • Tyke

Why do you insist on lying about my party registration. I support Bill Schneider for this seat. Are you claiming he’s a closet Democrat?

You do not get to decide that some kind of bs tea party type loyalty oath is required to be a Republican. Margaret Chase Smith and Barry Goldwater would be considered RINOs by fools like you. You and your ilk are destroying the Republican party in Maine and will push us back into obscurity with your radical agenda.

I have no problem with Summers investigating claims of voter fraud and have never said that I do. It was his STUPID press conference making a big deal about it before the fact — then sort of mumbling and making up other “maybe, possibly, could be imaginary problems ” when he found absolutely no voter fraud. He looked stupid and forever aligned himself with Charlie Webster in the minds of voters. That is a kiss of death politically.

    • Anonymous

This has nothing to do with Charlie Webster. If Hein were a real Republican and not some wacko then he would have been able to collect all of the checks. All of the other Republicans who ran clean apparently did not have a problem getting their checks in…

      • Anonymous

The article says Hein is a Republican. Now you are saying if he were a “real” Republican. What is the difference between a Republican and a “real” Republican? And were the others who didn’t get caught cheating Republicans or “real” Republicans?

        • Anonymous

The article also states that he worked for the Christian Civic League. I wonder why he no longer works for them?

          • Anonymous

” …The article also states that he worked for the Christian Civic League. I wonder why he no longer works for them?…”

Could it be the “deep philosophical differences” the article mentions?  Such as it is OK for Christians to lie?

          • Christians have been perpetrating a lie for 2000 years, Hein is a politician… I don’t think lying was the issue.

        • Guest

“real” Republican were honest. Today, they are nothing but GREEDY , LYING, STEALING republicans. They are only in politics to get tax breaks, steal and take!! MOST of them……….there are still a few “real” republicans out there.

      • Anonymous

Charlie Webster is a joke, and this guy is as real a REPUBLICAN as ANY of them.  He is a corrupt hypocrite which is just exactly what Republicans overwhelmingly tend to be. Corrupt to the core Republicans corporate toadies. Glad to see how much you support that “SOCIALIST” clean elections law that the real Republicans are trying to entirely kill, though so many “REAL” Republicans USE IT.  Well, come November we are going to CRUSH the joke of a Maine GOP and turn LeBUFFOON into the lamest of ducks in a big way.

      • Anonymous

The article states that he is a Republican,  it doesn’t use your definition of what that entails,  and neither does anyone else.   It also says that he is a customer service representative for Dirigo Health.   Seems to me that he is indeed a corrupt state employee,  but it (his being corrupt) doesn’t involve his job AS a state employee.    So, Le Page is still wrong,  Webster was wrong……and it’s time to pay the piper come November. Or, we can elect people like Hein…….is there really a choice?

      • Anonymous

The party of personal responsibilty refusing to take personal responsibility. You can’t make this stuff up!

    • Anonymous

Apparently “R”s are so repulsive to you that you don’t use them in the word “fraud”Freudian slip?Great posts,as always.Have a great day!

      • Anonymous

Thanks.    I enjoy allowing a reader to take the simple step to correlate the words, “fraud” and “corrupt” with Republicans.  Such as:  when I say the name Bruce Poliquin, and constitutional violation people think………ah ha!   The important thing is, that they remember it when they make the conclusion,  not reading mine.

  • Jake_OO7

Lock step with Lepage and his crooks,  no surprise here.

    • Wrong.

      • Jake_OO7

Still kissing the governors behind, so unbecoming from an elderly lady.

        •  You really shouldn’t talk about yourself like that. It’s very unkind.

          • Anonymous

            Nice comeback.

    • Tyke

Yup. In his picture in other papers he’s got a big LePage button on his lapel.

      • Anonymous

         and a Nixon/Agnew one too.

  • Anonymous

I’ll bet in “heinsight,” Mr. Hein wishes he’d played by the rules.

    •  “Heinsight”….. Good one..
      2 thumbs up.

  • Anonymous

Rules? Republicans don’t need no stupid rules.

    • Anonymous

Yep.  He’s got blue eyes, too…you know none of them can follow the rules.

    • Anonymous

He should have been a Democrat, then this story whould have been shifted to a one liner at the bottom of the court news section.

      • Anonymous

Maybe he should have been a democrat. Maybe he should have been an independent. Maybe he should have been purple. But he wasn’t any of these things was he? HE IS A REPUBLICAN.

  • Anonymous

Aren’t the signers of the documents criminals also? Sounds like a conspiracy to commit election fraud to me. Charge them all to set an example.

    • Not Takin It No Moe

It can’t be election fraud. Maine has no election fraud, remember?

      • Anonymous

It’s only election fraud if Republicans, Greens, Independents, Tea Party etc. do it.  If Liberals do it they call it fair politics and transparency.

        • Anonymous

You can do better then that DC. I have faith in you. Perhaps blaming this on King or Baldacci maybe. Maybe Obama? How about a diatribe about the poor who are ripping every working person in Maine off. Or then you could just accept the fact that this pond scum tried to cheat and got caught. So what if he is a republican?

        • Anonymous

Gee, you just can’t man-up and own your joke of a party’s hypocrisy and corruption can you?  Well, enjoy your delusional denials.  Typical right winger.

        • Anonymous

Don’t forget conservative ‘hero’ LePage likes to fool people with the word transparency!

The signers should be charged also. Looks like a conspiracy to falsely obtain state election funds.

  • Folks think collecting qualifying contributions is a snap. It isn’t.

I had to turn in less than 50 contributions and go it on my own. Those are the rules. So it goes.

The problem we face is that campaign financing is out of control and Maine needs to lead, not follow.

I’m doing my damnedest to get elected, and campaign finance is high on my agenda.

I support Clean Elections and applaud the Maine Ethics Commission for their hard work to keep elections clean.

    • Anonymous

I don’t support Taxpayer Subsidized Payments (improperly named Clean Election Funding)  to folks running for office, but do believe Johnathan Wayne is doing a very good job of catching idiots like Hein.

He also caught the guy who purchased a table say and tried to have taxpayers pay for it saying he needed it to make campaign signs.

On the other hand, Wayne didn’t think one candidate in Bangor did anything wrong by co-mingling around $4,000 of Taxxpayer Subsidy with his own, personal, checking account and only repaid the State when confronted for it!

  • Anonymous

Throw him in jail where he belongs

  • Anonymous

Never fear, ALEC will be glad to donate money to someone so easily bought.

  • Anonymous

Public Financing of campaigns needs to end.

    • Anonymous

why? making it too hard to cheat?

    • Anonymous

Public financing of campaigns is the only way to get corrupt corporate money out of politics. But with the SCOTUS firmly behind unlimited corporate “campaign donations”, it will be a long, painful time before we the people have anything resembling a real voice in our once-great government again.

  • StillRelaxin

If the job wasn’t already filled by one crook this fellow would likely have ended up being our State House Speaker.

Where is the outrage from Naran Spaulding Rowe or whatever her name is? Corruption amoungst the tea party/ GOP ranks is ok I guess. Right Naran?

    • Anonymous

You’ve got it backwards, it’s Naran Rowe-Spaulding.   She’s a Political Activist — Seeking Fiscal Responsibility from Government. Yawn.

      •  Better than anonymous cowards who post spineless attacks on other people.

        Yeah.

        • Anonymous

How about people with real names who post spineless attacks on other people?

    • Not Takin It No Moe

Naran Rowe-Spaulding will be chiming in as soon as the GOP sends her the talking points in the matter.

      • Guest

No talking points no this one, so she has to resort to ad hominem.

    •  Wrong, Stupid.

  • This is ridiculous.  When I saw the headline, I thought, “Republican”, and I was right.  Then I saw Christian Civic League in the story and I thought about a commandment, “Thou shall not bear false witness”.  It might not be exactly on point, but I think it’s an admonition against lying.  I guess Mr. Hein didn’t quite live up to that.  And then I noticed the requirement was $5 from 60 people.  He couldn’t even accomplish that and he wants to be a member of the Maine House.  The bar isn’t that high and he falls short.  Pathetic.

    • Anonymous

No matter how low the bar is, there will still be things that crawl on their bellies trying to go under instead of over.

  • Where is Matt Gagnon and his sidekick Naran RS they should be all over this story since they are sooooooooo concerned about ethics lately.
    http://bangordailynews.com/2012/05/24/opinion/youve-come-a-long-way-mike/
    Hellooooooooo Matt……… Naran………. anyone????

    • Hein was banned from AMG years ago, for good reason. Blaming the GOP for Hein’s alleged election fraud is like trying to blame the entire Democratic Party for Charlie Rangel’s corruption decisions, Clinton’s philandering, or Pelosi’s insider trading deals. There are unscrupulous scoundrels on both sides of the partisan line.

Thanks for playing, but you lose.

      • Anonymous

        He’ s a perfect candidadate,sounds like he’s already trained.

      • Guest

Naran I am am teaparty republican occupier. I believe in free speech for all not just editors of blogs that edits or discards peoples comments because of truths they don’t want exposed.

      •  I don’t care if you guys at AMG banned him or not, to me being banned by AMG should be a badge of honor, but that’s just me. This slug Hein still is carrying your label GOP, so it is fair game to chide your side. Here is a couple of things you have said that could COULD be interpreted “as” what you say you did not say. Ahem! Kettle, pot, pot kettle.
I also find it interesting that he works for a state “gubernment” agency you guys hate, and that he was a member of the Ehem…… Un-Christian Civic League.

        Naran

From the article linked in the first post:
The ethics panel recently admonished Mr. Rangel, a New York Democrat,
for accepting an overseas trip that was sponsored by several
corporations, a lapse he blamed on his staff. He also faces inquiries
regarding the payment of taxes on rental income from a house he owns in
the Dominican Republic and on the use of rent-controlled apartments in
        New York, among other allegations.

*********TYPICAL RESPONSE – “It was the staff, it wasn’t me!””TYPICAL RESPONSE” for a Democrat you mean, right Naran???As for Pelosi….there is this.

        Naran

ALEC is the newest R boogeyman being touted by the Left. It joins the Kochosaurus in mythological Incantations against Evil by Democrats.
Meanwhile, “THEIR” heroine Nancy Pelosi and her spouse are still counting their ill-gotten insider deal gains.Never saw that coming Naran. LOL!

        •  Are your comments always this boring and unintelligible?

          •  You mean like yours? Sorry you don’t have a level playing field on AMG, it is only when you venture out of your cave you are vulnerable so as you like to say NRS thanks for playing but your kettle is blacker than my pot, or thanks for playing but… you lose. ROFLMAO! Guess you better stay on AMG where you preach to the T’Bagging minions and YOU are in control.
By the way you do know what a control freak is, sorry rhetorical question you of all people know exactly what that is. One only has to go to AMGLOL and hear the stories of the ones you have terminated for …….. DARING to challenge LiarPage, or NRS.

        • Anonymous

Get rid of political action committees , lobbiests and political parties.  Teach your kids to have backbone instead of teaching them to be politically correct.  Give politicians the same benefits they prescribe for us : minimum wage , 40 hour work weeks , social security retirement and no health benefits.  Also prevent them from accepting politically appointed jobs after serving.  No more back room deals should also be the norm.  Government is broken because we the people have not taken care of it properly , we’ve allowed the fox to run the henhouse for far too long.

        • Anonymous

Fatty, why don’t you lead by example and take a run at the job?

I think what you don’t like about me is that I have a heart and I also understand what livable wage means and the definition of greed and hatred!!

Not all lawmakers are crooked, there are a few still left that are trying to make a differnce, but it looks like there are fewer and fewer every day we pick up a paper or there is a story in the news about a campaigner or politician that has ripped the people off. When will it end there is always an investigation but no charges are filed.cant wait until november we all need to get out and vote to make some changes and put some new blood in those augusta seats and break up the good old boys club and make some cuts in their perks instead of them cutting every one else.
