    great job………. lets at least require police to have emt basic training then this would be a normal event and perhaps many other lives could be saved in the future?  I think if we required the wardens forestry and the sp to have this training they would have the respect of the EMS community(now adverary)- If LE believes emts dont understand their training // then perhaps this is a simple way to fix a huge problem in maine.l currently much of maines state LE  have NO medical traning. a liability ………………………………

    A more appropriate headline would be “Charlie Summer’s uses story from Aroostook County to generate free publicity for himself  in the midst of his Senate campaign.

      That was exactly my thought.  Anything to get his face in front of the voters.

    • How did he manage to find the time to get in front of the camera, doesn’t he have any more threatening  letters to write to 
      students voters?

      Are you saying you do not believe he should have given this woman an award? After reading the article it seems as though she was definitely worthy of receiving it.

          Where does it say anything about his political agenda. He is giving an award to a woman who deserves it. Why are you so quickly jumping to the conclusion that this is for his campaign? He isn’t wearing a lapel sticker is he?

    She may have been able to say the EMTs will handle it, but that doesn’t mean the baby will wait for the EMTs.
