  • Not sure who the confused wanderer is , but I know she is a criminal.
She was carrying a “black market” tote bag.
Black market, I believe , denotes illegal activities.

    • what in the world is a black market tote bag? Like she’s just carrying various things in a bag to sell on the ‘black market’….sounds odd to me…

Should say she was carrying a black tote or a black bag . Poorly written sentence at best.  At worst  it’s confusing and redundant. Black as in color, market as in supermarket, tote as in to carry, or something to carry goods in, and bag as  something to carry goods in.

It’s a knock-off (fake) of a brand name bag/purse such as a “Gucci” or “Coach”.  There’s a black market for tons of brand name stuff.  If you ever watch the reality show ‘Pawn Stars’, Rick Harrison dropped out of high school back in the early 80’s because he was making $2K/week selling fake Gucci’s.

Hope they find out who the woman is and where she belongs.

I took it to mean a market style tote bag, black in color. Not a bag sold on the black market.

Or, it could mean a market tote bag (cloth, heavy duty, reusable), that happens to be black.

Knock-offs are actually considered “Grey Market.” Unfortunate lapse in editing though.

I think in this case they mean a canvas grocery bag that is black in color not bought on the “Black Market.”

  • Does anyone think that she was trying to get to Portland MAINE?? Just a thought I hope someone knows her or she regains her memory :(

    Sad indeed.

  • Poor darling. I sincerely hope that she is reconnected with her loved ones soon. I had a brain malfunction a number of years ago and I know how easily it is for things to spiral out of control at those times. Her fear must be palpable. Thank goodness she has people looking out for her and has not yet slipped through the cracks and onto the street where so many end up.

    It’s a black,  market-bag, I think.  Not black-market bag.

Too bad it doesn’t have a store name on it or something.  Traveling with no ID?   Money or purse?   Sounds like someone relieved her of these things along the way.

Hope to read about her being identified and in recovered health.

Isn’t there a woman aprox. that age that went missing quite awhile ago from Maine?

Glad everyone is focused on the bag……get real people, this is some ones mom or grandmother.

  • OK, maybe she isnt a criminal after all.
    Just a transient.
I misunderstood how the article was written.

I do hope she does find a safe place to stay.

    • Its all in how you word it lol

M_M22:  I was wondering the same thing…….  I remember reading about an elderly lady that had been missing.  Don’t remember reading any follow up on it.

She does look similiar to the lady missing from Bethel, wasn’t that lady moving from Portland area to Bethel?
