INVERNESS, Fla., and MILLINOCKET – Joseph E. Tinkham, 85, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012. He was born Oct. 1, 1926, son of Robert and Lottie (Knowlton) Tinkham.

He graduated from Stearns High School, and worked for Bangor and Aroostook Railroad and Great Northern Paper Co. Transportation Department, retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine (Currier) Tinkham; children, Dianne and husband, George (Beau) Bilodeau of Inverness, Fla., Robert and wife, Mary, Ronald and wife, Lou, and David, all of Millinocket; grandchildren, Lisa Simon, Kristen Bilodeau, Traci Martin, Marcie Chasse, Kate Taylor and Joe Tinkham, Ronald Jr. and Shawn Tinkham, and Jeremy Tinkham; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Campbell; and brother, Robert Tinkham.

There will be no ceremony per his wishes. Arrangements by ICS Cremation.
